With the 2002 Olympic gold medal to its credit, Team Canada retained its perch atop elite international hockey when it won the 2004 World Cup of Hockey. All-Star forward Dany Heatley wore this 2004 WCOH Team Canada gamer during a 5-1 preliminary round win over Slovakia in Montreal on Sept. 1. Heatley assisted on Canada’s final goal, Ryan Smith’s second goal of the game. The World Cup of Hockey 2004 patch is sewn on the left breast of the jersey, which has an IIHF patch sewn on the right rear tail, Nike inventory barcode with serial #45690 inside the hem, and Nike size 58 and IIHF tagging and a Made in Canada flag tag in the back of the neck. Comes with an NHL/NHLPA WCOH 2004 LOA.
Game wear includes black marks on the upper front of the right sleeve, black marks and board burns with red and blue paint transfer on the right sleeve cuff, a few black marks and board burns on the left sleeve, which has a bit of red paint transfer on the back, and a few light marks on the front tail.
The LOA erroneously states identifies the jersey’s serial #45590; it is in fact serial #45690. Black twill surname letters are heat-pressed onto the nameplate on the back.
