Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024

A product of the Chicago Steel in the USHL and the London Knights of the OHL, Danny Richmond was drafted 31st overall by the Carolina Hurricanes at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and would go on to play in 49 games over the course of his NHL career, being awarded a Stanley Cup ring with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010. Offered here, we present this Blackhawks jersey worn by Richmond during the early portion of the 2007-08 season. Made by Reebok, a lone size "56" tag is affixed to the inner collar while the front and reverse necklines have been accented with the crests of the NHL and Reebok respectively. Decorated over the front with Chicago's famed Indigenous head team crest that features beautiful chain-stitched details throughout, matching tomahawk alternate logo patches are in place over both shoulders, once again displaying with chain-stitched details while the "WWW" memorial patch for William W Wirtz has been sewn over the right breast. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Richmond's number "44" in dual layer black-over-red tackle twill numerals, "Richmond" is spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting just light game-wear with stick marks over the front and both sleeves, a small spot stain is observed on the right sleeve that is worth noting for accuracy, along with some colour bleed at the back of the collar. Featuring light pilling on the interior, it should be noted that the jersey was one of the ones sold during the 2008 Blackhawks Fan Convention and that is why it is void of any team tagging. Regarding the aforementioned photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #77230815 (October 4th, 2007 vs Minnesota) to the stick mark near the left armpit.
