Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Enjoying a relationship with his fellow citizens and hockey fans of Canada for over three decades as the play-by-play announcer for Hockey Night in Canada, Danny Gallivan mostly called Montreal Canadiens games, with this large photo display of the legendary commentator that was most likely displayed originally in the Montreal Forum hailing directly from the archives of the Canadiens. Accompanying the unique display, we have a Hockey Night in Canada jersey display produced for the 60th anniversary in 2012, most likely displayed at the Bell Centre. The Gallivan display is a large 24” x 30” photo on board with a framed backing to facilitate mounting, with a “Danny Gallivan” plate added at the base. The jersey was produced by Reebok, in the familiar HNIC colours, with the “60th Season” patch sewn to the right breast. A plaque has been added over the front, with the jersey framed to 37 ½” x 40 ½”. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
