Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Always high on the radar of collectors, we have a goalie mask that was worn by Daniel Berthiaume during his time with both Minnesota (1989-90) and Los Angeles (1990-91). Produced by noted maker Michel Lefebvre, the original interior padding and strapping is intact, with “36” in decals across the back headpiece along with a stylized and outlined “L”. Currently finished in dark black with Kings decals over each side, the black paint has been sanded-away from an area over the chin section, with the former North Stars design visible beneath. Numerous marks and scratches are present including wear to the surface of the cage. There is also some minor soiling to the added gauze-style material that has been placed over the chin section. Three included hockey cards (1990-91 Pro Set and Upper Deck and 1991-92 Score) show Berthiaume wearing this mask both as a King and as a North Star.
