Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Concluding his time in his adopted home of Winnipeg after representing the Jets as their flagship superstar for nine seasons, Dale Hawerchuk became the youngest player in history to reach the 100-point plateau in his first season in Manitoba, and would earn a total of 929 points with the club – an average of over 100 points per season! From his final year in Winnipeg in 1989-90, we have an especially desirable Jets signed and photo-matched captain’s jersey worn by the iconic star.
Maska Air-Knit labeling with handwritten “52” sizing resides along the collar, with an embroidered CCM crest on the reverse hem. Styled with the classic multi-coloured Jets team crest with embroidered detailing, “10” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Hawerchuk” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill and the Jets’ Goals for Kids patch on the left sleeve. Sporting custom-shortened sleeves, the sweater shows great game-use, with heavier wear to the material throughout including puck/stick marks, burns and material pulls. There are also a few very small holes including near the captain’s “C”, with fraying to the fight strap and some pilling to the interior. Ducky has signed the reverse “1” in white paint pen, with the signature blending heavily into the background material. Worn by the greatest player to ever dress for the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets and originating from his final farewell season in River City, this paramount garment is ready for inclusion within the best Canadian hockey collections. Hailing from his personal collection, an LOA from the Hawerchuk family will accompany.
Regarding the photo-match, Getty Image #1044552896 (Jan 31, 1990) has been matched to the two rows of black marks that run horizontally through the top of the "1" of "10" on the left sleeve, and to a few black marks below the team crest.
