Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

First competing with a team of NHL All-Stars against the powerful Soviets at Rendez-Vous ’87, Dale Hawerchuk would also make an international appearance that season in the famed Canada Cup, contributing six points en route to his nation defeating the mighty Russian machine while wearing the offered signed and photo-matched Team Canada jersey. The original Maska label is no longer present, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 52. Styled with the familiar sectioned maple leaf team crest screened to the chest along with maple leaf crests over each sleeve, “10” in single red twill has been sewn to the verso, with “Hawerchuk” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. The Canada Cup crest also resides on the right breast. Ducky has signed the reverse of the team crest in blue marker with “87 Gamer”, with the signature bleeding through the crest slightly. Light game-use is exhibited, with a few random small stains as well puck and paint transfer marks. Hailing from his personal collection, an LOA from the Hawerchuk family will accompany.
Regarding the photo-matches, four included digital images were used, with one from an unknown game matched to the series of black marks to the right of the maple leaf on the left sleeve, and to the series of three marks on the lower sleeve (the orange, blue and black marks), while the second hails from the match against Czechoslovakia (played against in round robin and in semifinals), and is matched to the pair of black marks on the reverse hem (one mark mostly washed-out). The third and fourth images are vs the Soviets (played against in round robin and in semifinals), with one matched to the red paint transfer mark near the right elbow, while the other is matched to the dark black mark on the reverse hem.
