Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015

Cujo was a great fit with the Desert Dogs so Curtis Joseph’s photo-matched Phoenix Coyotes game-worn jersey from the team’s first season set is a beauty to behold. The loose thread on the right shoulder patch is matched to a photo of Joseph in action against Anaheim on October 7, 2006, as is the black mark in the white middle band of the right sleeve. “06-07 Reg Season 1 31 Joseph” is handwritten in black marker on the inside of this gamer behind the team crest. “Official 2006/07-1 Game Worn Jersey” patch is sewn inside the rear tail. More game wear includes a black mark with an unrepaired burn hole on the upper left breast below the shoulder seam.
Joseph recorded his 438th win in a January 4, 2007 road win at Carolina to move past Jacques Plante into fifth place on the all-time goalie wins list. He was wearing a photo-matched white road jersey from the Coyotes’ first season set for that game. Joseph tied Plante with his 437th win in an 8-0 shutout against San Jose at home on January 30, 2006, so it is possible he was wearing this jersey for that game.
