Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024

Drafted 43rd overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 1979, Craig Levie would never find himself suiting up in Montreal's red white and blue to start his National Hockey League career, instead donning the same colours as a member of the Winnipeg Jets for the first 62 games of his NHL career, resisting 22 points over that time. Also experiencing NHL stints with Minnesota, St. Louis and Vancouver, offered here is this Winnipeg Jets jersey worn by Levie in both the 1981-82 and 1982-83 seasons. A heavy mesh construction made by Sandow SK, washed out brand and washing instructions tagging displaying a size "Large" designation is affixed to the inner collar while the Sandow SK label is screened over the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a beautiful Jets team crest in flight satin that has "Winnipeg Jets" and other details embroidered into it, the sleeves and verso have had Levie's number "21" sewn to them in dual layer flight satin numerals while "Levie" has been embroidered via blue thread letters into the flight satin material nameplate affixed to the top of the reverse. Displaying a loop and skate lace fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows light-to-moderate game-wear via stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, board burns over the lower front and right sleeve, red and yellow coloured board paint transfer marks on the right sleeve, a small unrepaired hole in the red band of the right shoulder and finally, some light pilling on the interior. With the white areas of the jersey no longer a bright white due to multiple washings that is worth mentioning for accuracy, it also should be mentioned that the jersey was recycled by the Jets from the 1981-82 season into the 1982-83 season as evident by the leftover threading of the removed 10th anniversary patch that is present inside the left shoulder. Additionally, the front crest also appears to have been replaced as well or at the very least removed and reattached since leftover threading from the old one is also observed on the inside as well.
