Three-time James Norris Trophy winner Chris Chelios was acquired by Detroit on March 23, 1999 in a trade with Chicago, and would spend the following nine seasons in Motor City, winning Stanley Cup championships in 2002 and 2008. This Motown garment was donned by Chelios during the 2004 Stanley Cup playoffs. Center Ice and Nike size “52” tags are affixed to the collar, with additional Nike and NHL crests on the reverse bottom hem. A label with “52” sizing is affixed to the collar with “2” screened above for second set. Styled with the classic embroidered winged-wheel team crest, the solid white V-neck has been accented with “24” sewn to the sleeves and verso in attractive single twill, with “Chelios” arching across the upper reverse in matching material. Light game wear includes a few random marks visible along with a trio of team repairs to the right sleeve. Getty Image #3440832 (April 17, 2004) appears to show the back number "2" sewn-on over the fight strap in the same general position, but the image is not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match. The team patch resides on the inside hem, and denotes "Playoff Set".
