Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Hailing from the famous home of the Chicago Black Hawks for over 60 years, we have a desirable seat from the fabled Chicago Stadium, and it’s been signed by legendary Hawks netminder and HOFer Tony Esposito. Opening in 1929, the Chi-town venue closed its doors in 1994, demolished the following year. At 31” in height, the free-standing solid red seat features cast construction with wooden slats, with “29” decals along the right side of the seat back. Esposito has signed along the very back slat of the seat in black marker adding “HOF 88”, and the signature is perfect. With some wear to the finish, the seat survives in especially pleasing condition. There are also a few cracks present to the seat back slats, but each remains solid and sturdy.
