Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Despite no signs of the Philadelphia Flyers logos that Pelle Lindbergh would affix to his later goal masks, this vintage face protector used by the young netminder reflects plenty of his vibrant personality. Painted bright red with what appears to be the original strapping intact, this molded fiberglass mask belonged to Lindbergh, who used it in his minor hockey days. The small headgear shows many signs of game use with chipped paint around the eyes and tiny cracks on the surface, along with a black mark on the lower left side of the front of the mask. Traces of glue also remain, with a rectangular shape over the inner upper right, with this differing over the left, with this residue possibly remaining from once affixed padding. Approx 6” wide and 8” high, this highly desirable mask once worn by tragic superstar Pelle Lingbergh was originally obtained directly from his family.
