Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

The inaugural leader of the Alberta Conservative Party, Richard Bedford Bennett entered office in 1930 as the 11th Prime Minister of Canada, serving for 5 years, until 1935. Bennett’s legacies include the formation of both the CBC and Bank of Canada. We have a signed and framed photo of the Hopewell Hill native, with any and all signatures of Bennett especially hard to come by. At 8 ½” x 10 ½” (exposed), the black and white image pictures a dapper Bennett exhibiting a weighty stare, double matted and framed to full dimensions of approx 17” x 20”. Bennett has signed in white along the base of the photo adding “1938”, with absolutely no issues for the vintage scripting. The photo itself also appears flawless, with some general wear to the frame, with some of the paper backing over the reverse missing. Bennett would pass in 1947 at the age of 76.
