Founded as the Atlanta Flames in 1972 and relocating to Alberta less than a decade later, the Calgary Flames are currently members of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference, and can include seven Division championships throughout their history, three Conference titles and a single Stanley Cup championship, in 1989. This lot contains a great Flames postcard, team card and limited-edition team-issued photo collection of approx 464, ranging from the first season in 1980-81, to 2007-08, with 46 examples signed. The breakdown for the items in the group is as follows. 1980-81 – 23 blank-backed postcards including Marsh, Bouchard, Reinhart, Peplinski and others, 1981-82 – 14 blank-backed postcards including 2 signed with Bridgman, McDonald, Peplinski, Reinhart (signed) and others, 1982-83 – 49 postcards including 2 signed with Edwards, Hunter, MacInnis, McDonald and others, 1983-87 – 46 blank-backed postcards including 16 signed with McDonald (signed), Peplinski (signed), Mullen (signed), Otto (signed) and others (these are in two varieties, wth some of firmer stock having postcard reverses), 1988-89 – 28 postcards, 1988-89 – 13 8” x 10” team-issued player photos, 1991-92 – 8 signed 4” x 6” photos with Reese, Roberts, Berube and others, 1997-98 – 29 Young Guns team cards, 1997-98 – 48 “Famous Flames” Vol 1 limited-edition photos (numbered #1 to #48, 1998-99 - 41 “Famous Flames” Vol 2 limited-edition photos, 1999-00 – 42 “Famous Flames” Vol 3 limited-edition photos (numbered #1 to #42), 1998-99 – 28 Young Guns team cards, 1998-99 – 5 Mohawk Husky team cards including 1 signed (Otto), 1999-00 – 23 Mohawk Husky team cards, 2001-02 – 6 team cards with 3 signed (Morris, Nichol and Conroy), 2002-03 – 14 team cards including 12 signed, 2003-04 – 18 team cards, 2006-07 – 2 signed team cards (Tanguay and Phaneuf), 2007-08 – 20 team cards, 2007-08 – 7 fan cards. There are also numerous additional items including team-photo postcards for 1980-81, 1981-82, 1988-89, 1989-90, 1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1993-94, additional team photos from the early-2000s, two items signed by Jerome Iginla, a dozen signed photos (Fleury, Gilmour and others) and more! The majority of the photos/cards in the collection remain in beautiful condition with just very light handling wear.
