Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Originally named not just for their Quebecois heritage, but for the 1971 blockbuster hit movie of the same name. Formed in 1972, The French Connection was made up of Gilbert Perreault, Rick Martin and Rene Robert. These two French Connection pieces include an elegant statue and a tastefully framed lithograph. The statue is by Jerry McKenna and it was produced in 2012. 15” in length and almost 9” in height, all three players are sculpted chasing after the puck, with some nice detail including visible jersey crests, as well as Martin’s #7. A small plaque has been placed on the front, and it’s “Edition 115/291”, and it remains in gorgeous condition. Accompanying the statue is a framed and numbered lithograph by artist Ron Bailey. The image shows The French Connection taking the puck from a vanquished Montreal player. Each has signed over his number below, except for Martin, where a piece of game-used jersey has been added. Measuring out at a full 28 ½” x 36”, Ron Bailey has also signed it and it’s been numbered 137/311. A COA will accompany the lithograph. C’est bon!
