Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
A product of the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL and one of only six (6) players to have had their number retired by the club, Brian Skrudland, despite going undrafted, would go on to play a total of 881 games in the National Hockey League, winning the Stanley Cup in 1986 with the Montreal Canadiens and in 1999 with the Dallas Stars. Offered here, we present this photo-matched Dallas jersey worn by Skrudland during their Stanley Cup championship season of 1998-99. Made by CCM, a brand tag displaying a "Made in Canada" designation as well a size "54" fly tag are affixed to the inner collar of the air-knit style garment while the CCM, NHL shield and Dallas logos have all been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Stars team crest that features both textured and embroidered details, matching alternate logo patches in the shape of the state of Texas have been added over both shoulders. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Brian's number "10" in dual layer white-over-green tackle twill numerals, "Skrudland" is spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate across the top of the back. Displaying stick marks over the lower front, reverse and both sleeves, board burns are found over both sleeves near the elbows and shoulders with the right shoulder also sporting a spot of reddish coloured board paint as well. With an unrepaired hole through the first layer of material at the left elbow and a small unrepaired cut at the right cuff, pilling is found on the interior along with salting to the fight strap. Regarding the aforementioned photo-match, Getty Image #72503262 (November 7th, 1998 vs Los Angeles) has been matched to the stick mark through the "0" on the right sleeve. Hailing from his personal collection, an LOA signed by Skrudland will accompany the piece.
