Brett Hull posed with Bobby Hull after they became the first father-son duo to each have 50-goal seasons. Brett reached the 50-goal mark for the first time against Red Wings rookie goalie Dave Gagnon on January 25, 1991 in the Blues’ 49th game of the 1990-91 season. Hull, who finished with 86 goals in 78 games, amassed this collection that features the puck he and Bobby held for the “50” goal photo shoot and also includes a framed photo of the goal, 12 photo slides, a contact proof sheet and the framed newspaper picture of Brett and Bobby holding the puck, and a dual-signed Brett and Bobby Hull limited-edition 50/50 litho, and a first day-of-issue envelope. Comes with Brett Hull’s signed LOA.
The “50” on the face of the photo shoot puck is a pair of yellow vinyl decals applied to the puck;
The 50th-goal photo showing Brett Hull following through on his shot displays to 7 1/2" x 12 1/2" inside the opening of a white matte, which has a plaque affixed to it that reads, “Brett Hull, 50th NHL goal in Game 49, January 24, 1991 at Detroit, Hull (50) from Oates & Stevens, Power Play Goal 1:30 of the 3rd Period”. The photo is mounted in a 13” x 17” black frame;
There are 12 photo slides with the copyright symbol dated 1990 and photographer’s name stamped on each including three shots of Bobby and Brett holding the “50” puck, one of Brett being interviewed by the press, and eight of Brett holding the “50” puck;
The 8x10 black-and-white contact sheet shows 10 photos, five of Brett alone holding the puck, and five of Bobby and Brett holding the puck, with photo editing marks on one shot of each of the two poses;
Bobby Hull and Brett Hull have each signed in pencil on the bottom margin of a 50 Goals lithograph that measures roughly 36” x 24” and displays the artist’s signature along with a “99/1609” pencil notation on the left side of the bottom margin;
The newsprint picture with caption of Bobby and Brett holding the puck is mounted in a white matte and displayed in a 10 1/2" x 12 3/4” black frame;
The first day of issue envelope measures roughly 4” x 6 1/2".
