Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
The short-lived Dodge Ram Tough Award, given for only four years to the player who totalled most power play goals, shorthanded, game winners etc, was first won by Joe Nieuwendyk in 1988, Mario Lemieux the following year, and for the final two years of its existence, was in the hands of Brett Hull, whose 1989-90 example is offered here. Standing 13 ½” high, this heavy Lucite design with the embedded ram's head and black base has the attached plaque (with the Dodge and NHL logos) reading as “1989-90 Dodge Ram Tough Award, Brett Hull St. Louis Blues”. In overall nice condition, the Lucite area has small bubble-like marks formed on the inside and the middle front has a small red line with nearby scuffing, while the base and plaque remain issue-free. The scarce award comes with an LOA signed by Brett Hull.
