Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
An invaluable service for the city of St Louis, the Blues 14 Fund is a non-profit charitable organization that was created in 1998 to honour Doug Wickenheiser who was suffering from onset epithelioid sarcoma. The Fund “has a mission to positively impact programs and services that improve the health and wellness of youth in the St. Louis area”. Blues players wore a special “candle wick” decal on their helmets during parts of the 1997–98 and 1998–99 seasons, with a banner with the logo permanently placed in the rafters of the Scottrade Center in 1999. We have a Blues and Cardinals themed Brett Hull jersey that has been twice-signed by the HOFer, with this example originally sold by the Blues for $4,690.00 in 2015, with proceeds going to the Fund. A 14 Fund COA will accompany.
A size “56” label is affixed to the collar, with Blues crests over each shoulder. Styled with a gorgeous Cardinals team crest with monogram patches over each sleeve, “Hull” appears across the reverse in dual-colour tackle twill, with “16” over the front and reverse in matching material. Brett has signed within the front and reverse numbers, with both signatures displaying well. Holograms have also been placed near each signature.
