A veteran of over 1,000 NHL contests, Bret Hedican dressed for five different NHL clubs throughout his career, with a Stanley Cup championship won with Carolina, in 2006. The Minnesota native also represented the US internationally, at the World Championships and Winter Olympics. From his time in British Columbia, we have a Vancouver Canucks jersey worn by Hedican in 1995-96, his third season with the club. A Maska Ultrafil label (with faint “S296”? handwritten) is affixed to the collar next to a size “54” fly tag, with CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Featuring the classic Canucks team crest with embroidered detailing, “3” appears over the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Hedican” across the affixed nameplate in single gold twill. The jersey also sports the Canuck Place crest over the right shoulder, with the intact dual-clasp fight strap showing signs of repeated washings. Showing traces of paint transfer over the lower front of the jersey, there are heavy burns and marks over each sleeve, with a large team repair over the right elbow.
