Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Fresh off recent Cup appearances in 1927, 1929 and 1930 - which included the first appearance of Lord Stanley’s mug in Beantown, the Boston Bruins were a force to be reckoned with, icing a number of stars and future Hall of Famers. This stick has been signed by 12 members of the 1931-32 Boston Bruins. A prize in its own right to antique hockey collectors, the one-piece stick which actually dates to the 1920's features “Broadmount” stenciled on the blade. High quality construction and hand-made, 12 signatures have been scripted onto the stick including deceased HOFers Shore, Barry, Weiland, Oliver, Clapper and Tiny Thompson.
With signatures placed on the shaft and blade in period fountain pen, others who have signed include Owen, Touhey, Boyd, Galbraith, Jerwa and Bud Cook. A few of the signatures have faded along with others that have slightly bled into the material, but they all remain in good condition, especially considering their age.
