Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Featuring the youngest player to ever be inducted into hockey’s house of holy, Bobby Orr made the transition from all-star player to venerated hero in 1979, when he was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame at the young age of 31. We have a 1979 Hockey Hall of Fame induction dinner program featuring autographs of the four inductees - Bobby Orr, Henri Richard, Harry Howell and Gordon Juckes - and their signatures are nice and bold. The program is framed to roughly 16” x 20”, and has a few stains and light creasing. As a perfect companion, we have a rookie season Bruins program from a Jan 19th contest against Chicago, and it’s been signed by Orr in ballpoint. The signature appears on page 19, with “Bobby” somewhat lighter.
The program exhibits wear, with tape on the spine at the bottom, otherwise, just regular expected wear is present. Also included, we have a Macleans magazine from Feb 20th 1965 featuring an article with Orr, with Bobby on the cover, and the magazine survives in very good condition with expected handling wear. We also have a modern 8” x 10” rookie-era image of Orr.
