Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
One of the most venerated and highly collected players of the Original Six era, Bobby Hull items continue to elicit considerable attention, with those specimens that witnessed game action at the top of the list. We have exactly that offered, with a hugely desirable pair of signed skates worn by The Golden Jet during his time with Chicago in the mid-to-late-1960s. The correct size 9, each CCM Tackaberry skate feature’s large white “9” decals along the outer sides, with the added "Safety Screened" tendon guards identical to examples on a previous pair of Hull’s skates from his personal collection that we sold. “9” has also been handwritten in black marker along the underside of each boot, with the CCM Prolite blades exhibiting nice use with some surface rust present. Hull has signed each skate along the inside sections in silver, with both signatures displaying well.
Showing considerable use, each skate exhibits heavy wear to the leather, especially over the toe sections, with what appears to be the original laces intact. Accompanied by leather skate guards, it should also be noted that the remnants of a former decal placed over the blade of the left skate are visible, with decipherable text to include “Skates used _ Hull 196?”.
