NHL superstar Bobby Hull gave the upstart WHA instant legitimacy as a major professional league in the summer of 1972 when he signed a $1-million deal to play for the Winnipeg Jets. The Golden Jet’s autographed Jets game-used stick from the early days of his stellar tenure in Winnipeg has his original tape job on his familiar custom-shaved knob, though Hull’s tape job was removed from the blade, where he placed a big bold black marker autograph with the “HOF 1983” annotation. His iconic No. 9 is handwritten below the knob with the now-faint “B. Hull” stamp below it. Game wear shows in marks and red goalpost paint transfer. Comes with a COA for the Hull signature.
Faded Larson Industries stamps with Vermont address are on each side of the upper shaft and the still bold "1178" stick pattern stamp lies lower down the back. There are a few remnants of the accent stripes low on the shaft. The bottom edge of the blade exhibits wear and cracks with some pieces of the wood missing.
