Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
The first player in history to score 51 goals in an NHL season, Bobby Hull achieved the feat late in the 1965-66 season. Originating from The Golden Jet's personal collection, we have the game puck used to score the historical marker - with all pucks that were kept by Hull covered in gold including this example. Mounted to a small marble base with engraved plaque to the puck that states "Bobby Hull - 51st Goal - NHL Record - New York vs Chicago - March 12, 1966", "Assisted by Angotti and Hay - Past Maniago - 5:34 3rd Period" also appears on the base. The puck shows light wear and it is able to swivel slightly on the base. Accompanying the puck, there is an 11" x 14" signed photo of Hull with the inscription "1st 51st Goal 3/12/63 Cesare Maniago" (date incorrect), along with a signed LOA on Chicago Black Hawks letterhead.
