Setting the WHA on fire during the 1974-75 season, Bobby Hull dominated along with his Swedish linemates Anders Hedberg and Ulf Nilsson to form the league’s most threatening line. Hull would set the professional record for goals in a season with 77; the most for any WHA campaign, and conclude the season with 142 points along with the Gordie Howe Trophy as league MVP. Hailing from the personal collection of Anders Hedberg, we have the puck The Golden Jet used to score his milestone 75th goal of the 1974-75 WHA season, occurring on March 21, 1975 vs New England. An Official WHA puck with rubberized New England team crest over the obverse and screened WHA logo on the reverse, the puck has been mounted to a small wooden base with gold-coloured plaque affixed that states, “Bobby’s 75th - in New England – March 21, 1975”. The underside of the base has been signed by Hedberg, adding “A gift from my friend Bobby – my rookie season 1974-75, Cheers”, along with “Winnipeg Jets #15 – Nov 10, 2020”. A signed LOA from Anders Hedberg will accompany.
The puck itself exhibits light wear, with the rubberized Whalers crest intact and darkening somewhat over time, common for these game pucks. There are also a few small blemishes to the affixed plaque.
