Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

Bringing a certain “Broad Street Bully” element to Detroit along with teammate Joey Kocur during his tenure, Bob Probert proved to be hard as nails, with the tough guy also adept at putting the puck in the net. We have a signed Red Wings jersey that was worn by Probert in 1987-88, his third of nine seasons with the club. A CCM label remains along the collar, with an embroidered CCM patch on the lower hem. Styled with a beautiful winged-wheel team crest, “Eastside” appears on the bottom hem in rubberized letters, with “Probert” affixed directly to the reverse in single tackle twill letters. Probert had signed the reverse within the bottom section of the “2” in black marker including his number, and the signature displays well.
We should note that we originally sold this Probert jersey a decade ago, with wear that has been added to the garment since that sale. The original wear to the jersey includes a dime-size hole just below the partially ripped neckline while nine team repairs (3 left sleeve, 5 right sleeve, 1 back) average an inch long. Some good scrapes and a slice (left sleeve) were also present, along with three small holes (front) and interior pilling (fight strap region). Wear that has been added since the sale includes a large stick mark beneath the team crest, along with a few other marks over each sleeve near and over the elbow sections. There is also some staining to the reverse numbers.
