Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Overhauling the state's education system while Governor of Arkansas, William J. Clinton would be credited with the longest period of peacetime economic expansion in US history during his term as the 42nd President of the United States, serving from January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001. The Hope native was also the third-youngest president in history. We have a pair of signed Clinton items, with a 1997 Inaugural Invitation, along with a White House lithograph. The invitation is within a small 6 ½” x 9” leather folder with Presidential seal over the cover, with the document placed within the left side of the folder, and a photo of Clinton and Bill Gore placed over the right. Clinton has signed the invitation within the upper left in black marker, with the autograph remaining dark, and no issues for the photo or folder. The 25” x 33 ½” lithograph has also been signed in black marker, with the signature displaying well. JSA LOAs will accompany each piece, along with two additional LOAs.
As mentioned, the Inaugural Invitation folder remains in gorgeous condition with no issues other than a few very faint blemishes to the folder (mentioned for the strictest accuracy). The litho has been signed by the artist over the lower right in pencil, with the limited-edition number of “807/950” over the bottom left. The litho exhibits handling wear with a few minor surface indentations, and will be shipped rolled.
