A 1998 Philadelphia Flyers’ draft selection, netminder Antero Niittymaki first gained seasoning in his native Finland playing for TPS for three seasons. Making his NHL debut during the 2003-04 season, Niittymaki would play parts of 5 seasons in the “City of Brotherly Love”. Worn by the two-time Olympic medalist during the 2005-06 season, we offer this Flyers third jersey worn by Niittymaki. Featuring “Goalie Style” and size “58” labels affixed to the inner collar, a Reebok crest is found over the reverse neckline with the NHL shield embroidered into the rear hem. Styled over the front with the metallic looking Flyers crest that shows embroidered details, the sleeves and verso display Niittymaki’s number “30” in tri-layer tackle twill numerals with “Niittymaki” in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Worn for just a single contest on March 25th, 2006 vs Ottawa, the jersey shows light wear through a few puck marks to the sleeves and front with some liquid stains not associated with game use found over the rear hem. Additionally, Niittymaki has signed the reverse number “3” with a silver ink signature that shows some fading from age. A MeiGray tag numbered “C08435” is sewn into the interior and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “Third – Promotional Game 3/25/06” specimen. A Flyers Charities COA will accompany.
