Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
From the midst of the Montreal Canadiens’ 1950s dynasty’s record run of five consecutive Stanley Cup wins is this splendid silver-plated three-sectional meat platter, which was presented to members of the Habs organization after winning their second straight title in April 1957. "National Hockey League - Stanley Cup Winners - 1956-1957 - Club De Hockey Canadien Inc. – Andre Pronovost" is engraved at the top of the raised central panel. "Wm Rogers & Son, E.P. on copper (electro plated) 157" is engraved on the reverse. The grandfather of Red Wings forward Anthony Mantha, Pronovost had 10 goals and 21 points as a 20-year-old rookie and won the Cup each of his first four seasons with the Habs.
This magnificent memento of the 1950s Canadiens Stanley Cup dynasty is dent-free and very nicely preserved with a patina and cleanable tarnish.
