A gold medal winner with the US at the 2013 World Junior Championships, Alex Galchenyuk spent 6 seasons in Montreal, with his best career totals occurring in 2015-16 when he registered a career high 30 goals. Hailing from that 30 goal season, is this Montreal Canadiens jersey worn by the 2012 3rd overall pick. Made by Reebok, A size “56” label is affixed to the inner collar with a “2” decal (for set 2) found above while NHL and Reebok crests adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with the Canadiens famed “CH” team crest in layered tackle twill with embroidered details, the sleeves and verso of the tie neck sweater have had Galchenyuk’s number “27” sewn to them in dual colour blue-over-white tackle twill. “Galchenyuk” is spelt out in single layer white letters across the affixed matching nameplate on the reverse. The jersey shows light but good game-use with a fabric backed repair at the left cuff and stick marks over the right shoulder and sleeve. Light board burns are also seen over the left sleeve number “2” and the lower front blue stripe. The interior of the jersey shows good fraying and pilling.
Worn on April 9th, 2016, the jersey was won by our consignor as part of the Canadiens “Shirts Off Our Back” contest. Galchenyuk has signed the rear number “7” with a blur ink signature that displays without issue while a Canadiens hologram numbered “GU06080” is affixed underneath. A Canadiens LOA with a matching hologram affixed will accompany the piece as will ticket stubs and a Galchenyuk sign from the game. Of note, the LOA incorrectly lists the jersey as being from Set 3.
