Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017

Stunning Detroit Red Wings dureen jersey was worn by Alex Delvecchio in the late-1960's. An Olympic Sporting Goods tag appears in the collar along with a frayed fly tag which appears to indicate size 48. An Athletic washing instructions tag is in the hem, half detached. The gorgeous embroidered winged wheel logo is sewn on the front, along with Delvecchio's team captain's "C" on the right breast. The number "10" that "Fats" wore proudly for over 20 seasons is sewn on the back and sleeves in tackle twill. There is some bleeding to the numbers and at the white stripes and hem. There has been a nameplate removed from the back with our research revealing that the shirt was recycled for an Oldtimers game in February of 1971. The game was a tribute to the 1950 Stanley Cup champion Red Wings, with this jersey being issued to Jimmy Peters. The shirt shows nice game use with three sizeable team repairs on the lower left front, a total of six on the sleeves which also include a few burns on each and a small repair and run on the right shoulder. It has been preserved in excellent condition. Will come with a Classic Auctions LOA. A remarkable jersey of this all-time Red Wing great!
