Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
With tangible items representing Team Canada difficult to locate, we have an especially desirable and unique collection of locker room nameplates from the gold medal winning boys in red and white, hailing from the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Five examples are present, with Lemieux, Brodeur, Sakic, Yzerman and Paul Kariya, with each black 2” x 12” nameplate with gold trim featuring the player’s last name centralized with number, with a Hockey Canada logo on the left, and Olympic Rings with “Salt Lake 2002” on the right. A few examples have expected glue residue on the reverse from prior use, with the Yzerman example having the residue on both the front and reverse. The only set of 2002 Olympic nameplates in existence, this set is an ideal candidate for framing.
