Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
A true winter relic of the Victorian age, ice skating in the 19th century was a leisurely pursuit embraced by all, regardless of class distinction or economic means. This interesting pair of antique wooden skates is reminiscent of this highly cherished era. Constructed of solid steel with finished wooden bases and sections covered in leather, the skates also feature curling blade tips that are aesthetically pleasing. With most of the hardware intact and some age cracking to the wood, the 12” artifacts display beautifully, despite no discernible makers marks present.
