Edmonton Oilers Auction 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/16/2005
Jari Kurri had joined Gretzky in Los Angeles, Mark Messier was with the Rangers in New York and Glenn Anderson and Grant Fuhr were down the road in Toronto. Despite the talent loss, the Oilers would still make the playoffs in 1992 by finishing third in the regular season with a 36-34-10 record. In the post-season the Oilers would continue to dazzle, beating the Los Angeles Kings and then the Vancouver Canucks to take the Smythe Division Championships. Direct from the rafters of the Edmonton Coliseum, now Rexall Place, we offer the original Smythe Division Championship banner, hung to celebrate and commemorate the Edmonton Oilers 1991-92 post-season title. This massive double-sided orange nylon banner measuring approximately 4 by 12 feet, proudly displays the team logo with "NHL Smythe Division" above and "Champions 91-92" below. All logos, lettering and numbering have been individually applied to this historical one-of-a-kind display. From the archives of the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club, with accompanying letter of authenticity on team letterhead signed by Oilers General Manager Kevin Lowe.
