Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Extremely scarce are little hockey cards that were on the back of boxes of Bazooka bubble gum, with intact boxes downright rare. Mirroring O-Pee-Chee’s 1971-72 cards but smaller in size, the OPC Bazooka lineup features 36 cards, with Orland Kurtenbach, Bob Nevin and Yvan Cournoyer cards included here. Boxes were taped close back in the day, with tape marks/residue indeed present on this treasure, with additional tape stains on the front, where “#1-36”, along with a bit of scribbling, is in pen. We also spot a crease in each of the outer cards, with a bit of scuffing to the crease-free Nevin image. One end of the box is missing but cleverly replaced by a photocopy/reproduction of the other. Not-drastic creases are on the side panels but all-in-all this is one fabulous little brick to hold and twirl around, something that not many people can say they’ve done. Click, click if you would like to too!
Card measurements are 1-7/8” by 2-3/4”, while the box is 5-3/4” by 3” and 1-1/8” thick.
