Registering 44 goals and 59 assists for a total of 103 points throughout the course of the 1968-69 season, representing a career high for the ageless wonder in both the National Hockey League and World Hockey Association, sure to intrigue all collectors that seek out pucks or memorabilia of the Detroit Red Wings or Gordie Howe is this rubber biscuit that hails from the 1968-69 season. An Art Ross/Converse made slug features a rubberized Red Wings emblem on one side with "Detroit Red Wings" spelt out around with while on the other is the rubberized National Hockey League/Art Ross/Converse crest in its familiar orange colour. Remaining in overall good condition with oily surfaces that show some wear via shallow cuts and marks over both faces and small chips totaling two (2) on the edge of the Converse crest side, the Red Wings logo has a small portion that is missing and worth mentioning for accuracy. Our consignor informed us that he got this personally signed by Howe with the signature looking/feeling like an embossed facsimile signature of Gordie Howe which is located through the Red Wings logo, it seems as though the puck was possibly manufactured this way and not signed by Howe. Howe score his 700th regular season goal during the 1968-69 season on December 4th vs Pittsburgh so it could be a commemorative piece done for that. Overall, a great oddity worthy of your all-important collection.
