Handsome, original and rare award was given by the NHL to Jean Beliveau after he led his Montreal Canadiens to the Stanley Cup in the spring of 1965. After a 4-year drought, the Canadiens recaptured hockey's top prize by beating the Maple Leafs in 6 semi-final games and then the Black Hawks in 7. Beliveau notched 8 goals and 8 assists in the 13 games. He had the distinction of scoring the Cup-winning goal just 14 seconds into the 4-0 finale and also scored 2 other game-winners in the finals. Beliveau won the very first Conn Smythe Trophy and later received this personal award. A heavy bronze plaque with the NHL shield and proper engravings is screwed to a wooden backing. In formidable near mint condition, the superb, seldom offered award will be accompanied by Jean Beliveau's signed letter of authenticity.
