Jacques Plante Auction March 2006
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/28/2006
Wonderful old oil on canvas board painting is the work of none other than Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender Jacques Plante. The huge (22” by 30”) scene of a country home and colorful flowers is dated “4-2-55” in the lower left corner, where the multi-talented Plante also painted his name. Surrounded by an antique-looking wooden frame, the painting until just recently hung in the Plantes’ home in Sierre, Switzerland where Jacques and his wife Caroline retired to. Obtained from Mrs. Plante, the thought-provoking painting will be accompanied by her signed letter of authenticity.
