Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Dynamic duo here is led by trailblazing Jackie Robinson, the man who was responsible for leading the way for other greats like Henry Aaron to make their mark on Major League Baseball. Topps' 1955 issue features a masterful design, with the Robinson card an inviting specimen indeed. A gorgeous scratch-free surface strikes the beholder, with the slightest of touches to three corners observed. We also detect a tiny ding on the upper edge, just above the tip of Jackie's bat. We see it as a NM example and at the very least EX-MT+. Card #50 informs of how Robinson batted over .300 for the sixth straight season in 1954 while seeing action at both 3rd base and in the outfield. Meanwhile, the Aaron entry is his second-year card and also displays bright original colors and pleasing centering. It's affected however by a light one-inch diagonal crease that runs through Hank's ear to attain the middle of the right border/edge, rendering card #47 VG+. A tad of chipping to the bottom edge is also to mention. Two of baseball's immortals await the high bidder here.
