Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Hockey card wrapper aficionados will surely be excited by the chance to score these two scarcities. From the Topps company's initial appearance on the hockey card scene comes a wax wrapper (which originally held six cards) and an inner Bazooka gum wrapper. Images of those gorgeous vivid red, white and blue colors of Topps' 1954-55 cards come to mind, with the 5-cent wrapper exhibiting standard fold lines and light toning but no edge tears, with a couple of pin-size holes detected. The inner wrapper features Bazooka Joe pitching his prize catalog and a tee shirt. It too is tear-free. Two fantastic finds, the likes of which we've auctioned only once over the years, will intrigue vintage hockey card wrapper collectors . Extremely scarce indeed.
