Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
The second Stanley Cup Championship in franchise history, the Chicago Black Hawks would defeat the Maple Leafs in four games in 1938, setting contemporary attendance records in the process. It would be 77 years before the Hawks witnessed another championship on home ice. This lot contains a rare ticket stub for the Cup-clinching fourth game. At roughly 1 ½” x 2”, the solid red stub has been adhered to a page that was removed from a scrapbook, with other pertinent clippings referencing the 1938 Finals. The beige page is just under 10” x 14”, and it features rough edges all around, with an additional pair of newsprint photos of the Finals on the reverse. The stub itself remains in pleasing condition with just a small hairline crease.
