Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Taking advantage of the team's success at the Winter Olympics, we have a pair of Monarch Knit advertising displays for the 1924 and 1932 Canadian men's Olympic hockey teams - both gold medal winners. The 1924 display is 13" x 20 1/2" and pictures the full team in their Monarch sweaters, with a Monarch logo over the base and a green border (poor condition, with heavy wear, pinholes, soiling and staining). The 1932 display is 8 1/2" x 15" and also shows the full team in Monarch sweaters, with additional advertising to the base and an easel on the reverse for stand-up display. There is some corner and surface wear, but the display presents beautifully overall. Also included with the rare pair of displays, there is a newsprint team photo of the 1928 Canadian men's Olympic hockey team (7 1/2" x 17"), a framed newsprint photo of the 1936 Canadian men's Olympic hockey team (10 1/2" x 17 1/2") and a child's scribbler with the 1924 Canadian men's Olympic hockey team pictured on the cover.
