Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/29/2023
Displayed on the front wearing the first sweater and logo in the history of the Montreal Canadiens franchise, the club's first goalie is depicted, Joseph Cattarinich. Card #16 in the series and inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1977 as a builder, Cattarinich didn’t last long in the Habs crease, recommending the team sign Georges Vezina and offering to step aside after the latter so impressed him in a Montreal-Chicoutimi exhibition game. Having earned a mark of EX 5 from the graders at PSA, the card is nicely centered, with toning to the reverse. We should also note a few minor scratches to the PSA holder.
