Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
The first goaltender of the Montreal Canadiens, backstopping the young club during the inaugural season of 1909-10, Joseph Cattarinich later purchased the Habs along with Leo Dandurand and Louis Letourneau in 1921. Extensively involved in horse racing betting, Cattarinich also owned the famous Blue Bonnets Raceway in Montreal, which started in 1872. This large framed cabinet photo features the HHOF builder. At 22" x 28", 11 dapper gentlemen are pictured including Cattarinich, with the photographer listed over the bottom right. Set in what appears to be the original frame at 28" x 34", there is surface wear to the matte and photo, with additional wear to the hefty frame.
Please note that while all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
