Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his work in co-founding the Carter Center, former Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter served as the 39th US President, in office from January 20, 1977 to January 20, 1981. We have a cheque signed by the noted author and statesman. At approx. 3 ¼” x 8 ¼” and drawn on the account of the Plains Mercantile Co. which is a Carter-family business, the 1960 cheque has been written entirely in the former incumbent’s hand, with a fairly bold ballpoint signature of “J.E. Carter Jr.” Stamps appear from both Carter Warehouse and the Plains Mercantile Company, with no issues for the signature, and just light wear including a horizontal fold line and a few minor creases to the cheque.
