Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Hailing from the final championship of the Original Six era, we have a Stanley Cup championship trophy that was presented to Tom Nayler for his role as Assistant Trainer with the 1966-67 Toronto Maple Leafs. Standing at a majestic 13” and mounted to a wooden base, the names of the men who made it happen are engraved in two columns beneath the Leafs executives including deceased HOFers Sawchuk, Horton and Stanley, with “Toronto Maple Leafs” and “1966-67 Stanley Cup Winners”. An even coat of patina is present, with some surface loss to the finish along both the body and tiers on the reverse, with some additional loss and minor pitting along the top rim. We should also note that the original box accompanies, and it shows considerable wear with clear tape used along seams, with two of the lid’s corners split. A fantastic memento of the Maple Leafs' last Stanley Cup conquest.
