Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
An original member of the Montreal Expos, Rusty Staub is the only major league player in history to have 500 hits with four different clubs. The New Orleans native would complete his lengthy 23-season career with 2,716 hits, with the Expos retiring his number in 1993. This bat was used by the six-time All-Star during his time in Montreal, circa 1969-71. A Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger S256 signature model, the 33 ¼” lumber has Staub’s #10 handwritten over the knob in black marker, placed over the stamped model number. Uncracked, the bat exhibits nice game use, with ball and cleat marks over the reverse barrel along with a streak of light blue paint transfer over the handle, most likely from bat rack contact. All proceeds from the sale of this lot will go to the Kat D DIPG Foundation at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
