Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Their first of six consecutive Stanley Cup finals appearances, the 1955 finals would be the only loss for the Montreal Canadiens, with five consecutive Cups won from 1956-60. We have a Lions Club cardboard pocket name tag that has been team-signed by the 1954-55 Habs. At just over 8” in length and designed to slip into a suit jacket pocket with the top section displayed, “R. Gamache” has been printed over the name section, with 11 Canadiens signing the blank reverse in ballpoint including deceased HOFers Plante, Harvey, Irvin, Beliveau, Johnson, Bouchard and Bert Olmstead, along with LeClair, Curry, St. Laurent and one other which is Georges Gravel who was the only French referee in the NHL in the 1940s and 1950s. The signatures are bunched close together, but display wonderfully.
