Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Well loved throughout their tenure in Boston during the late-1930s/early-1940s, the Kraut Line was honoured by the Bruins hopefuls on March 18th 1952, with Clarence Campbell presenting silver watches to the trio and Bobby Bauer returned to reunite the line and play in a single contest. We have a puck originating from that evening vs Chicago, and it’s been signed by the three HOFers. A special night not just for Bauer’s return, Schmidt would net his 200th career goal – a feat achieved by only five active players at the time – as well as three additional points, with Bauer also plotting a marker in a 4-0 victory. An Art Ross example that saw NHL use from 1950-58, tape has been added completely around the puck, with just the edges of the rubberized logos visible. Handwritten text on one side lists the date and score along with “Schmidt Dumart Night”, with the trio signing the opposite side in dark ink.
The tape has aged and is now slightly discoloured, with light tears around edges. The tape is also loose at the start of one strand, but remains perfectly affixed to the puck. The trio have signed in dark ink with just minimal bleeding, mostly to the “Bauer”, with the beginning sections of both “Bobby” and “Woody” somewhat lighter. The puck itself just shows light wear, with no obtrusive damage.
