Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
The longtime goaltending coach of the Boston Bruins, Bob Essensa began his career in Winnipeg and guarded the creases of seven different NHL clubs which included three seasons with the Edmonton Oilers in the late-1990s. Hailing from his second season in Alberta, we have an Oilers jersey worn by the Toronto native in 1997-98. RMC and “Goalie Style” labels are affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the reverse hem. Styled with the familiar tear-drop Oilers team crest, the navy V-neck jersey has been accented with tri-layer tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching oil rig patches over each shoulder. Exhibiting light game-use with a few paint transfer marks visible, there are also a few small slits on the left sleeve along with a small hole to the chest, with heavy pilling at the left cuff. The “Set #1” team patch resides on the inside hem, with an LOA from the Oilers to accompany along with a COR from MeiGray.
